Security Council Has Mixed Reaction for Stronger U.S. Resolution.

Oct. 3--UNITED NATIONS--UN weapons chief Hans Blix has made tentative plans for his inspectors to arrive in Baghdad on Oct. 19, UN sources said yesterday, despite a demand by US officials that inspections not proceed until a stronger UN resolution is adopted.

But reaction in the UN Security Council was mixed yesterday to the new US-drafted proposal, which would grant UN inspectors wide-ranging powers to hunt for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
