Caucus Mulls Whether to Oppose Hispanic Broadcasting-Univision Merger.

Oct. 11--WASHINGTON--The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is considering whether to oppose the merger of Hispanic Broadcasting Corp. of Dallas and Los Angeles-based Univision
Communications Inc.
On Thursday, the 18-member caucus, all Democrats, "discussed the matter but no vote was taken," said caucus spokeswoman Ashley Atwell, press secretary to the group's chairman, Rep. Silvestre Reyes, D-El Paso.
"They are looking into the merger," Ms. Atwell said. "They have met with people. They have looked into how this will affect the market, how it will affect the Latino community."
