Canadian Company Will Open Plastics Plant in St. Joseph, Mo.

Oct. 11--A Canadian company will open a plastics plant in St. Joseph to manufacture parts for the new Chevrolet Malibu that will be built at General Motors' Fairfax plant, officials said Thursday.

The $10 million facility being opened by Progressive Moulded Products of Concord, Ontario, will employ 200 workers. It will be in a recently completed building in the Mitchell Woods Business Park.

The new plant will furnish plastic parts for Malibus that will begin production at the Fairfax facility next year. General Motors Corp. is investing $500 million in the Malibu line.
