Norfolk, Va., Businesspeople Hear Lecture on Marketing to Minorities.

Oct. 11--NORFOLK -- No one would dare say that all Italian-Americans act like Tony Soprano, so don't think one message will resonate with all African-Americans.

"My 17-year-old nephew has different interests than I do," local marketing executive Delceno C. Miles said during a talk Thursday at Norfolk State University. "But when you talk to clients, stereotypes are still there -- the one-size-fits-all marketing plan."

Miles spoke on "minority marketing" to more than 60 local businesspeople -- including several Norfolk State alumni -- as well as professors and students.
