Seattle City Light Audit Criticizes Managers, Elected Officials.

Oct. 16--An audit of Seattle City Light points to serious problems with its risk management and planning and to a lack of informed oversight by local elected officials.

Members of the Seattle City Council were briefed on preliminary audit findings yesterday, but city officials refused to release the full report publicly before City Light managers had been given a chance to respond to it.

The audit was conducted by Vantage Consulting, a Florida firm, under a $178,000 contract with the City Auditor's Office. The full report is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
