University of Missouri Health Care Opts to Keep Most Clinics.

Oct. 18--A group of clinics owned by University of Missouri Health Care will be taken off the auction block, but the health system will also eliminate a Boonville clinic and give up ownership of a clinic in Monroe City.

The university owns 13 Community Practice Group clinics and two specialty clinics in 11 counties. The clinics primarily practice family medicine and are aimed not only at providing health care in rural communities but at generating referrals to University Hospital. After state budget cuts were imposed earlier this year, university administrators said that they might sell clinics in Brookfield, Hermann, Macon, Moberly and Salisbury, but officials said this morning...
