Blockbuster Reveals Online DVD Interest.

Oct. 18--Blockbuster Inc. acknowledged Thursday that it owns a small online DVD rental company in Arizona but said it considers the business strictly a research and development operation.
The Dallas-based movie rental giant quietly acquired DVDRentalCentral.com in April.
The company said it's been more focused on store-based DVD subscription tests, which are under way in 500 Blockbuster stores.
"Results are showing us that we have some real opportunities in store-based subscription rental services," said Karen Raskopf, a Blockbuster spokeswoman. "We continue to believe that online will be a niche, a small subset of the overall rental market."...
