Oct. 21--Jacksonville Bancorp Inc. has maintained a fairly low profile since opening in 1999, but its visibility should start to increase this week.
The company's stock, which has been traded in the over-the-counter bulletin board, has been approved for listing on the Nasdaq SmallCap Market and is expected to begin trading there Wednesday.
"The listing should enhance shareholder value by increasing awareness of the company within the investment community," said Jacksonville Bancorp President and Chief Executive Officer Gilbert J. Pomar III.
