Home Network Sales Explode, as Consumers Seek to Link Personal Computers.

Oct. 21--As a busy graduate student at Northern Illinois University, Jeff Kirkton did not like being confined to a desk when using his laptop. So Kirkton and his roommate had a wireless computer network installed in their Hoffman Estates apartment.

Now Kirkton can study and print documents from the couch, kitchen or bedroom and not worry about tangled wires. "I just pick it up and move, and with that I'm able to do anything I want," he said.
