Weyerhaeuser Begins Laying Off 350 Workers.

Oct. 23--Steve Oles, a 36-year Weyerhaeuser employee, learned at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday that he no longer had a job with the company.
"I am not very happy about it," said Oles, who drove logging trucks for the forest products company. "I am 59 years old. I don't know what I am going to do."
Weyerhaeuser Co. said Tuesday it will lay off 350 workers when it shuts mills at Enumclaw and Snoqualmie and sells off timberland in Western Washington to save money.
The White River sawmill at Enumclaw and the Snoqualmie finishing mill will close early next year. The Enumclaw mill, which makes dimension lumber such as 2-by-4s and 2-by-6s, employs 150...
