Port Washington, Wis., Manufacturer to Double Sales with Acquisition.

Oct. 24--Simplicity Manufacturing of Port Washington would double its sales and expand its reach in the southern United States under a deal announced Wednesday to acquire Snapper Inc. of McDonough, Ga.
The acquisition, which is subject to antitrust review and other conditions, is expected to close within 30 days. Under the agreement, Simplicity plans to pay $73.3 million in cash and assume certain liabilities of Snapper, including accounts payable and warranty costs.
The deal marks the first acquisition in nearly two years for the Port Washington manufacturer.
