Regional Company Acquires Customers of Morrisville, N.C.-Based Telecom.

Oct. 25--MORRISVILLE, N.C.--In what might be the final chapter of Interpath Communications' presence in the Triangle, regional telecommunications company US LEC Corp. has acquired about 150 of its customers, and two new tenants are poised to move into its remaining local office space.

The announcements come even as Interpath is in the middle of a merger with USinternetworking of Annapolis, Md., that was announced in May.

Officials at USinternetworking declined to say how many Interpath employees remain in the Triangle. But at its peak, Interpath -- which was started by Capitol Broadcasting in 1994 and acquired by Carolina Power & Light in 1997...
