Plans for Coal-Fired Plants Cast Shadow on Oak Creek, Wis., Golf Course.

Oct. 25--OAK CREEK, Wis.--Plans for a championship golf course at Milwaukee County's Bender Park and surrounding high-end residential development would be doomed if plans by Wisconsin Energy Corp. to build coal-fired plants in Oak Creek come to fruition, County Supervisor Bud Endries said Thursday.

Oak Creek officials on Thursday called to the table county officials, business owners and We Energies in an attempt to update Bender Park development plans, but discussion turned to how and what could occur with a decision on the power plants pending, possibly for another year.
