Comcast Enlarges Internet Service in Harrisburg, Pa., Area.

Oct. 30--More than 20,000 households in the midstate are subscribing to cable-modem Internet service from Comcast Corp., a stunning 645 percent increase from a year ago.

The current figures include Lebanon, which just got cable-modem service in January. But even with the additional Lebanon subscribers, the gains are impressive from the 3,100 midstate customers Comcast cited at the end of September 2001.

Statewide, Comcast had 175,000 cable-modem subscribers on Sept. 30, compared to 64,000 a year earlier.
