ABC Executives Say Season Is a 'Pleasant Surprise'.

Oct. 31--ABC executives Wednesday declared their pleasure with the network's surprisingly good performance so far this season but sought to temper expectations as the November sweeps begin today.
"We couldn't be happier with how this has gone thus far, but at the same time recognize that there is still quite a bit of work left to do," said Lloyd Braun, chairman of the ABC Entertainment Television Group.
The Disney-owned network needs to improve its Thursday lineup and plug other schedule holes, he said, but Tuesday had been "the most pleasant surprise for us so far" and has become a signature night for ABC.
