Comcast to Raise Rates for Internet Service Customers.

Oct. 30--Comcast Cable will be raising its rate for Internet service in December.
Starting Dec. 1, subscribers to Comcast's Internet service who do not have any other cable products will pay $54.95 per month, a $10 increase over the current rate.
Larry Schweber, Comcast's marketing director, said the rate change will affect less than 5 percent of its online population, which includes Charlotte and Sarasota counties.
In Charlotte County, only about 500 customers would be affected by the rate hike.
However, Internet-only customers can add the cable company's most basic level of service -- which comes with 20 channels -- and pay $54.15. Comcast's...
