Dell Lends Sales Power to Apple's MP3 Player.

Oct. 31--Apple Computer Inc. got the highest praise possible Wednesday -- its portable MP3 player, the iPod, is so good that rival Dell Computer Corp. is selling an Apple product for the first time
Apple didn't gloat. Neither company trumpeted the deal with an announcement, but they confirmed it when asked. The companies had refused to comment on rumors of a pending agreement for the past several weeks.
"Yep, Dell is reselling iPods," Apple spokeswoman Lynn Fox said in an e-mailed statement. "We're thrilled: iPod has been a big success to date, and we would like to make it even bigger."
