British Consultant WS Atkins Narrows List of Possible New Chiefs.

Nov. 24--The board of WS Atkins will meet on Tuesday to look at a shortlist of candidates to replace Robin Southwell, the former chief executive who resigned last month after a profits warning sent the group's shares crashing 73 percent in one day.
Chairman Michael Jeffries has already drawn up the list of candidates; insiders say the names on the list will be unknown to the City.
"It doesn't make sense for any chief executive or finance director of any publicly-listed company to join WS Atkins right now. The company is going to have to look at someone who is currently running a large private engineering group, preferably in the UK," said one source.
