Central Illinois Economy May Recover in 2003, Report Says.

Nov. 26--The slumping central Illinois economy is stabilizing and showing signs of a possible recovery next year, according to a quarterly report by Bradley University.
"Third quarter revenues of major area employers are encouraging, with equipment sales of major manufacturer Caterpillar Inc. and area hospitals both on the rise," said Bernard Goitein, director of survey research at the Center for Business and Economic Research at Bradley's Foster College of Business Administration.
The center compiles the Statistical Composite of the Peoria and Pekin Economy exclusively for the Journal Star each quarter.
