Senator Slams New York City Cell Phone Chaos.

Nov. 25--Sen. Chuck Schumer ripped cell phone companies yesterday for providing "abysmal" service in New York and called on the Federal Communications Commission to force improvements.
A new study shows the city has the worst cell phone service in the country, and Schumer said the metropolitan area is riddled with more than 200 call-killing "dead zones."
"Every one of us knows the frustration of dropped calls, and the problem seems to be getting worse," said Schumer (D-N.Y.).
A report by J.D. Power and Associates found that cell phone service in the city ranked "dead last" in customer satisfaction and call quality among the 27 largest cell phone markets in...
