Clark County, Wash., Electric Utility Tries to Hold Budget Line.

Nov. 22--VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Clark Public Utilities commissioners will hold a public hearing next week on a proposed 2003 budget that holds the line on electricity rates.

But utility officials say customers should expect one anyway, based on information from the Bonneville Power Administration, a key electricity supplier.

"BPA expects to raise rates by at least 8 percent in April, which would translate into a 3 or 4 percent increase in retail rates" for Clark customers, utility general manager Wayne Nelson said in a news release this week.
