Nov. 14--TEKELEC ANNOUNCES SUCCESSOR: to CEO Tekelec announced Wednesday that Frederick M. Lax will succeed President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Margolis when he retires Feb. 18.
Lax, currently executive vice president and chief operating officer, has held previous executive positions with AT&T and Lucent Technologies. Margolis said he has been working on a succession plan with the board for some time so he could leave on his five-year anniversary. The Calabasas company (Nasdaq: TKLC) develops telecommunications signaling and control systems. Tekelec shares dropped 12 cents to $8.73 Wednesday, well off a 52-week high of $22.25 on Dec. 7.
