Sabre Holdings, Cendant Corp. See Drop in Stock Prices Due to Airline Rules.

Nov. 14--Investor fears about how the government plans to regulate airline reservation systems sent stock prices falling Wednesday at Southlake-based Sabre Holdings Corp. and Cendant Corp.

Under rules proposed Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Transportation, central reservation systems such as those operated by Sabre and Cendant-owned Galileo International Inc. would have to compete with each other to gain full access to an airline's available fares.

Airlines are now required to offer the same airfares to Sabre, Galileo and their two privately held competitors, Amadeus Global Travel Distribution SA and Worldspan LP. The computer systems give travel agents...
