Nov. 12--Three former Drexel University students accused of one of the biggest betting scams in horse- racing history are expected to surrender to prosecutors today, a source said.
The former students are expected to show up in a court in White Plains, N.Y., to face charges of wire-fraud conspiracy for allegedly rigging computer bets that resulted in a $3 million payoff.
The U.S. Attorney's office will have 30 days to present evidence to a grand jury, which will decide if the three former collegians should be indicted. If an indictment is not handed up, the charges will be dropped.
