SuperTarget, Home Depot Bring Big Job Prospects to Clermont, Fla.

Nov. 5--CLERMONT, Fla.--South Lake's growing sea of rooftops is fueling retail development and more jobs.

A SuperTarget and Home Depot under construction could produce as many as 620 jobs, according to officials with the two retail giants.

"Florida is in a very intense growth stage right now, and this [south Lake] is an area that is still on its way up," said Brie Heath, spokeswoman for Target. "It has demographics that go from the beginning of our range to the end."

Heath said the SuperTarget, which is a Target store with a food market, will hire 400 to 500 employees for the 175,000-square-foot store set to open in March.
