Nov. 1--LAKE CITY, Fla.--When Florida Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson gets thirsty, a paid staffer hands him bottled water.

The GOP incumbent, a millionaire rancher with deep roots in Florida politics, can take a sip while resting on the cushy seats of his tour bus decked with satellite TV and sleeping berths for eight. Staffers handle cellular-phone messages. A driver keeps him on schedule.
