Thai Market for Alternative Investment Seeks Larger Role as Intermediary.

Nov. 1--The Market for Alternative Investment plans to serve as an intermediary between financial advisers and auditors and small businesses to help them enter the local stock markets.
"Since the beginning of this year, the MAI marketing team has discussed with and given advice to more than 150 SMEs on listing," said Sopawadee Lertmanaschai, manager of the Capital Market Opportunity Centre, a unit of the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
"Many of them took a relatively long time preparing themselves for listing, mainly because they did not understand fund mobilisation mechanisms and they did not have any financial specialists to help prepare them in different areas for listing."...
