Chatham County, Ga., Commissioners Warned to Stop Singling Out Wal-Mart Site.

Nov. 9--The warning was clear.
County commissioners will stop singling out the Wal-Mart site in Sandfly or face litigation.
"You are acting outside your authority," said Phillip McCorkle, lawyer representing the property owners. "If you elect Mr. McMasters to drag you down this path, you have no immunity."
The threat came after County Commissioner John McMasters asked fellow commissioners at Friday's meeting not to issue permits furthering the development of Wal-Mart Supercenter while the commission is considering rezoning the Wal-Mart property.
