Nov. 11--It looks like crunch time at Cable & Wireless. The board meets tomorrow and on Wednesday the company will report on how things are going, and whether chief executive Graham Wallace will be one of them.
Trading has obviously been awful and the loss huge. Yesterday's papers were primed to prepare the markets for the worst. We were told that Wednesday's announcement will detail thousands of job cuts, though the number varied between newspapers as has become customary since the regulator took a tougher stand against such leaks -- different figures imply different sources.
