Microsoft's MSN 8 Internet Service Chases AOL 8.0.

Nov. 10--As the upstart operating system Linux nibbles away at Microsoft's market share and lawsuits against the company wend their way through the courts, the Seattle-based software giant has turned its sights on new sources of revenue.
Microsoft's biggest target is AOL, formerly America Online and now part of AOL Time Warner. This month, these two, the biggest players in consumer information technology step up competition by both launching new internet services.
In this case Microsoft's MSN 8 is the upstart, chasing AOL 8.0, the latest software from the incumbent leader.
