Plans for NASCAR Racetrack Near New York City Take Bad Turn.

Nov. 15--International Speedway Corp.'s proposal to build a racetrack near New York City appears to be dying.
A New Jersey-based advisory group has recommended dropping ISC's proposal from a list of ideas to redevelop part of East Rutherford's Meadowlands Sports Complex, a member of that committee said Thursday.
"There was a question about the appropriateness . . . and whether or not it made sense to pursue NASCAR at that site," said Leonard Kaiser, a member of a group advising the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority on developing the land.
"I think folks are more inclined to look at sports and entertainment venues that include restaurants...
