Los Angeles Buyout Firm to Buy Peoria, Ill.-Based Telecom ROHN.

Dec. 3--PEORIA, Ill.--ROHN Industries Inc. will be sold to a Los Angeles company that specializes in buying companies in the high-tech and telecommunications industries, ROHN officials announced.
Platinum Equity LLC has agreed to buy financially struggling ROHN and its assets for about $8.75 million. Assets include ROHN's tower division, enclosures division, accessories division and construction services division as well as the company's office in Mexico.
It remains unknown what will become of the ROHN operations or employees in Peoria after the sale, which officials hope will be closed by the end of the year.
