Dec. 4--Breaking into business successfully means finding a need and filling it. Kim and Thach Nguyen saw the need for a shop specializing in clothing alterations and, three months ago, opened Kim's Tailoring and Alterations in Shelton. "Many people need their clothes hemmed or taken in," said Kim Nguyen. "It's what I like to do."
Walking into the shop, at 109 Center St., is like stepping into a slice from the past. Old sew-ing machines, including an antique Singer model, line against one wall, ready to hem, serge and trim regular and heavy fabrics.
