Four Las Vegas Malls Report Strong Holiday Business.

Dec. 6--Fueled by strong sales over the four-day Thanksgiving weekend and an expected sense of urgency among consumers, executives from four local shopping malls said Wednesday they're expecting double-digit sales increases for this year's abbreviated holiday shopping season.
Because this year's Thanksgiving holiday fell in late November, the traditional Friday after Thanksgiving to Dec. 24 shopping season is only 26 days, down from last year's 32-day total. Despite shoppers' loss of nearly of week of quality time in stores, however, Fashion Show mall Vice President and General Manager Scott Freshwater believes the shorter sales period could benefit retailers....
