Leeds, S.C., Chemical Plant Manager's Retirement Coincides with Sale.

Dec. 5--LEEDS, S.C.--Tony Ventura planned all along to retire when he reached age 55.

Plant manager at Clariant Corp.'s Leeds Plant near Carlisle, Ventura will step down Dec. 31. He'll join his wife, Linda, in her residential construction business, Benchmark Builders, in Rock Hill.

"I'm extraordinarily proud of the people here and being able to turn over something a little better than I found it," Ventura said. "People here have done a great job."

The plant is to expected to be sold to Chemtrade Logistics Inc. of Canada by the end of the year. Ventura's departure is not related to the acquisition, he said.
