Belo Corp. Lifts Earnings Forecast for Fourth Quarter.

Dec. 12--Belo Corp. raised its earnings expectations for the fourth quarter on Wednesday, citing higher advertising demand at its television and newspaper groups.
The Dallas-based media company said earnings per share could be 2 cents to 3 cents more than the company's previously announced projection of 34 cents to 36 cents per share.
This year, "Our television group experienced tremendous growth in advertising revenues as the year progressed, and our newspaper group showed steady improvement quarter to quarter," said Robert W. Decherd, Belo's chairman, president and chief executive officer.
