Dec. 18--Even after meeting with an official from the company that sold them the problematic software, Brown County's computer quandary remains unsolved.
The problem stems from software that was installed in the assessor's office in 2000. Director of Equalization Mary Worlie said it has improved record-keeping in her office. However, it doesn't jive with a program used by the treasurer's, auditor's and register of deeds' offices.
Brad King works in the Sioux City, Iowa, office of CMS -- the company that sold the software to the county. He appeared before the county commission Tuesday, but no solution was reached.
