Blue Cross Warns about Troubled Contract Talks with Florida Hospital.

Dec. 19--Health insurance subscribers statewide soon could face the same dilemma as 50,000 Volusia County residents did last year after a local hospital broke its ties with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida Inc.
Blue Cross is warning customers and physicians about troubled contract negotiations with Florida Hospital, which has 17 hospitals in nine counties. If not resolved, as many as 175,000 people may need to go elsewhere to give birth, have surgeries or get treatments after Jan. 1.
The contract between the parties ends in less than two weeks and they have yet to agree on financial terms.
