Dec. 30--When it came to 15-passenger vans, Vera Jordan knew nothing about any government safety warnings. She hadn't heard of a federal study on the vehicles' propensity for rollovers or seen any harrowing pictures of a crash aftermath.
All Jordan knew was that the white Chevy Express van her family rented last year seemed roomy. After all, eight people would be piling into the van for a long trip to Mississippi for a family reunion.
