Acquisition of Private Contractor Won't Hurt Montgomery, Ala., Military Base.

Dec. 30--The private contractor chosen to manage federal civilian positions at Montgomery's military base has been bought in a mammoth merger, but the acquisition isn't expected to affect base operations or jobs.
DynCorp beat out seven other private contracting firms and the Air Force's own reorganization plan in August to be selected as "the best value contractor" for Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base.
"I can tell you that there will be no changes in our operations in Montgomery (at Maxwell and Gunter)," said Mike Button, division manager of DynCorp Technical Services.
