Jan. 15--SPECTRUM CONTROL ENDS 4TH QUARTER IN BLACK: Spectrum Control Inc. squeaked out a small profit during its fiscal fourth quarter, despite continued troubles for its customers in the telecommunications sector.
The Fairview-based manufacturer of electronic control products and systems posted a net profit of $158,000, or 1 cent per share, for the quarter, which ended Nov. 30.
That compares with a net loss of about $1 million during the same quarter in 2001.
Spectrum's sales for the quarter totaled $15.7 million -- up from $14.7 million in 2001.
"Our profitability has been achieved despite very difficult market conditions," Spectrum CEO Dick Southworth said....
