Virginia Port Authority Plans to Relax State's Travel Policy.

Jan. 15--Chafing under strict new state employee travel rules, the Virginia Port Authority is planning to adopt its own more lenient travel regulations that it says will better allow it to conduct port business.

The state's new travel policy was put in place in September after officials from the Port Authority and other state agencies bought high-priced airplane tickets, stayed in exclusive hotel rooms and used limousines to get around when they attended the Paris Air Show in 2001.
