New Jersey Governor Seeks Consolidation of State Job Training Programs.

Jan. 17--Governor McGreevey on Thursday proposed consolidating state job-training programs under the state Department of Labor, saying this move would help provide the skilled workforce New Jersey needs.
"We all know the challenge: the New Jersey economy is undergoing profound and rapid change," McGreevey said in a Rutgers University forum on the state's workforce.
"The supply of skilled labor and the demand for skilled labor seem out of kilter. The best opportunities will simply reside where the best talent resides."
Job training is now scattered across several state departments and includes a wide range of programs, including basic literacy...
