Santa Barbara, Calif., Bank Changes Ticker to Reflect Name.

Jan. 18--SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--Pacific Capital Bancorp, parent company of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, announced Thursday that it will change its Nasdaq stock symbol from SABB to PCBC effective at the start of trading Jan. 31. The stock of the Santa Barbara-based company will continue to trade on the Nasdaq exchange. To mark the change, President/CEO William Thomas Jr. and CFO Donald Lafler will participate in the opening ceremony of the Nasdaq in New York on Jan. 31.
Changing the symbol to PCBC will more closely tie it to the company's name, Mr. Thomas said.
