Sony, Other Firms Believe Two-Legged Robots Will Soon Be Commercially Viable.

Jan. 20--Two-legged robots are no longer the far-fetched fantasies of science fiction. Within a year or so, these mechanical creatures may be singing and dancing in American houses, opening doors, carrying boxes and helping children learn basic math.
These walking humanoids can recognize faces and voices, talk and entertain. And their creators hope they will eventually be able to push wheelchairs and do housework. The technological challenge comes from making the metal men balance on two feet.
