Sierra Autocars' Solar Power Panels Lets Sun Shine In.

Jan. 21--MONROVIA, Calif.--The solar power panels installed at Sierra Autocars may only provide 10 percent of the business' needed electricity, but they are the largest such project in Southern California.
The block-long auto group installed 7,200 square feet of Sharp solar panels on three service bays, according to Herb Mendelsohn, an account executive from 3 Phases Solar, the company that designed and contracted Sierra's system.
"Sierra is really doing its part to clean up the planet," Mendelsohn said. "The energy generated from the solar panels will save at least 1,000 tons of coal from being mined and at least 2,000 tons of CO2 from being...
