Healthcare Firm's Bankruptcy Filing Won't Affect Salina, Kan., Facilities.

Jan. 25--Alterra Healthcare Corp., which owns the two Salina Alterra Sterling Houses, filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy Wednesday.
The move, which will allow the company to reorganize, was made to help strengthen the company's capital structure, said Nancy Weir, company spokeswoman.
Alterra's Salina locations are 2251 E. Crawford and 1200 E. Kirwin Ave.
Care at the assisted-living residences and their staff won't be affected by the filing, she said.
"There should be no impact on the residents or the care and services provided to them and no impact on residence staff whatsoever," Weir said.
