Suburban Furniture Retailer Considers Boston Location.

Jan. 28--The MetLife Inc. building at 501 Boylston St., recently purchased by Beacon Capital Partners, could become the urban home of the suburban furniture giant Jordan's.

Jordan's, known for its comic spokesmen, Barry and Eliot Tatelman, is looking for a spot in Boston to take advantage of the increased number of upscale urban homeowners. Several people in the retail and real estate industries said that Jordan's executives have spoken to the new owners about taking first- and second-floor space in the prominent Art Deco building.

Space formerly occupied by Willowbee & Kent Travel Co. and the small theater in the middle of the building might be included....
