Weekend Computer Attack Slowed Internet Access in Aberdeen, S.D.

Jan. 29--Barry Kiesz of Aberdeen spent about three hours of his Super Bowl Sunday afternoon helping a North Carolina e-commerce company recover from an attack by the weekend Internet invader called Spammer.
"It was nasty," Kiesz said. "It made their server unusable and unavailable." Kiesz is director of Internet operations for Northern Valley Communications, Aberdeen. The North Carolina company is a corporate customer of NVC.
