United Airlines Pilots Express Need for Details Concerning Restructuring Plan.

Feb. 4--United Airlines' pilots expressed frustration Monday, saying they can't join in meaningful negotiations to help the carrier emerge from bankruptcy without detailed information about management's restructuring plans.

"The problem continues to be the process," said Capt. Paul Whiteford, the pilots' union chairman.

So far, he said, United's five unions have received few details about company CEO Glenn Tilton's restructuring plan, which calls for the creation of a new discount carrier. The pilots and the other unions have expressed opposition to that idea.
